As a kid, my family owned a single set of World Book Encyclopedias from 1994 and I loved flipping through it with its smooth shiny paper and gold-rimmed edges. I would open to a random page and soak up any interesting information I could find. Later on, my parents brought home a Brittanica disk and that completely blew my mind: So many fun facts (with relevant sounds!) at a mere click of a button.
Needless to say, the common thread of insatiable curiosity has continued into today. Friends know that while I’ll leave my phone mostly untouched during dinners, I’ll often feel compelled to pull it out if some googling needs to be done. I just have to know.
